‘Cosy, gorgeous, vibrant, inspiring, happy, lively, and full of personality’ is how Studio 2 has been described by visitors and students.

Right in the centre of the city of Durham, next to the river, stand a group of seven artist’s studios in Fowler’s Yard.  Julia occupies Studio 2.

Julia has painted her studio in vivid colours Inspired by her travels in India and Mexico, and has filled her space with shelves of colourful boxes and baskets which house her collections of textiles, sketchbooks and resources – many of which have been gathered on her travels.

Julia teaches her workshops, and courses in Studio 2 - a really colourful and inspiring environment to experience – and also creates her textile artwork here for sale in the studio, for shows, for commissions and exhibitions.
